2010 Master Mariners Regatta

Solicitation of Interest
Fred Andersen brought this to our attention a few weeks ago....and there is already one wooden Folkboat entered (Kaeresta USA 15 with the Rapps).
If we can get FIVE TOTAL wooden Folkboats to participate in the Master Mariner's Regatta on Saturday May 29, 2010; we can have our own class start. I spoke with Dean Gurke, the regatta co-chair, and he is willing to work with us to make it so, if we can get a commitment from enough boats by this weekend. Here is the Deal:
The regatta itself is on Saturday May 29th, with a 12 Noon start on the City Front at St. Francis Yacht Club, and a finish at Encinal Yacht Club. Whoo hoo, ALL downwind !!! There are also dinner, dancing, and a class award / perpetual trophy if we get a class together. You can spend the night at Encinal, and there is a breakfast the following morning. There are 8 Bears and 6 Birds entered, so each of those classes have their own start as well. We should join them.
Entry also includes ONE paid lunch on Friday, May 21 at the St. Francis for Skippers / Sponsors. Additional lunches are $40.00 a head.
Costs are as follows: $70.00 to join the Master Mariners Benevolent Association, $60.00 to enter the race (The website says $70 after April 30th, but the race chair says that they will waive it if we get a class together), Dinner at Encinal is $20 a head with reservations, Breakfast on Sunday at Encinal is $12
I will organize our entry as a fleet, if I can get (3) other commitments on top of the Rapps and ourselves. It would also be fun for the glass boaters to join in as crew if you wanted to go along. If you want to enter your wooden boat, please contact me by the end of the day on Friday, April 30, 2010. Meanwhile, forms and information is below.
