For Sale US 76 Frihed

I am selling Frihed. She is a Brandt Moeller Folkboat from 1961
She was 3rd in the Folkboat international’s in San Francisco, held in Richmond in 2014.
She was completely refurbished by Fred Andersen Boat and Woodworks in 2013. I bought her for 10k and did 15k work on it.
She has a cracked frame which will need to be repaired. She will also need an over haul and bottom paint.
I am selling her because I don’t use her enough and I feel it is a shame to leave her in the harbor all the time.
Sale price: $4,000
She is visible in Sausalito.

The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding is proud to offer a beautiful traditionally built wooden Folkboat, built to class standards, for $45,000.00. Started by the Traditional Large Craft class of 2016 and currently under construction by the class of 2017 under the guidance of instructor Jody Boyle, the hull and keel is built with Purple Heart, white oak, and Douglas fir using lapstrake construction. Paint and finishing will be chosen by owners. The vessel will be finished to sail ready condition with basic systems and interior to meet all requirements for immediate sailing. Sail and rig components per standard design plan are included and any additional equipment can be added individually by the owner(s) (not included in purchase price.)

For 36 years, the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding has been an accredited non-profit vocational school committed to providing a quality education where students learn confidence in working with their hands through traditional small, large, and contemporary wooden boatbuilding. We strive to provide experiential education to teach time-honored skills to new generations of craftspeople, preparing them for real-world employment and job placement in an increasingly digital world. By committing to this one-of-a-kind education, students are regenerating real-world craftsmanship, using their talents to bring new energy to a wide variety of industries and jobs. Located on the Olympic Peninsula in Port Hadlock, WA, the Boat School honors the boatbuilding traditions of the Pacific Northwest and Puget Sound with boat shops located on Port Townsend Bay. Programs in Traditional Large, Traditional Small, and Contemporary wooden boatbuilding begin in October each year. We are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), designated a Veteran Supportive Campus by the Washington State Department of Veteran Affairs, and licensed to accept Veteran Benefits and Federal Student Aid for those who qualify.

Looking for a new mast for your Folkboat?

Check out the new BM Folkboat mast from Kerteminde.

The most faithful alternative in aluminum alloy to the wooden mast.

It is flexible and bends similar to a top performing wooden mast.

It is slim, a delight to the eye, it works and it is easy to trim.

The 2017 Gold Cup was won by Per Buch, Hans Schultz and Per Puck from Kerteminde in DEN 926 “Geppeline” with the new mast from BM.
